On his last day in Tanzania, President Clinton became one of 360, 000 visitors annually to explore the World Famous Ngorongoro Crater. Often called "Africa’s Eden" and the "8th Natural Wonder of the World," this collapsed volcano (a “caldera”) is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area . This is a natural sanctuary for thousands of birds, insects and animals such as lions, zebra, black rhino and wildebeest, all free to wander.

BREAKFAST SEMINAR ON DEALING WITH CORRUPTION WHEN DOING BUSINESS WITH AFRICA

On 7th May 2019, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Swedish Sub Saharan Africa Chamber of Commerce organised a breakfast seminar on "Dealing with corruption when doing business with Africa".

The meeting addressed corruption in public and private sectors and how businesses entering new markets run the risk of being exposed to bribery, fraud and a range of other forms of corruption. 

The meeting gave insights on how to deal with corruption from both public and private sector players. The Swedish Foreign Ministry, alongside Ambassadors to African countries, large multi-national corporations and smaller companies shared their experiences on how they are dealing with corruption when doing business in Africa. A brief presentation was made on how the Swedish Government help Swedish Companies deal with corruption.

The meeting was moderated by Ms. Åsa Jarskog, President of Sweden - Sub Saharan Africa Chamber of Commerce and The main Speakers were;  

  • Jacob Kiefer, Ambassador for Sustainable Business, Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs
  • Natali Phalén, Secretary General, The Swedish Anti-Corruption Institute
  • Dr Wilbrod Slaa, Ambassador of Tanzania in Sweden
  • Christine Nkulikiyinka, Ambassador of Rwanda in Sweden
  • Jörgen Hansén, Compliance Officer, Sweco 
  • Michael Kindahl, General Manager, AMK Concept Innovation and
  • Ulrik Åshuvud, Chairman, Transparency International, Sweden.
