As you probably realize, staying on Zanzibar (or any of Tanzania's islands) is generally a lot cheaper than being on safari. Don't forget to look at the options on Mafia Island also if any of your party are serious divers or snorkellers; Mafia doesn't have the same quality of beaches … but it's a lot quieter than Zanzibar, and can have a much more exclusive feel for a similar cost.

TANZANIA MOURNS VICTIMS OF THE CAPSIZED MV NYERERE Print E-mail
 
The Embassy of Tanzania joins Tanzanians all over the world in mourning victims of MV Nyerere ferry that capsized near Ukara Island in Lake Victoria on Thursday afternoon, 20th September 2018. The exact figures of the death toll are yet to be confirmed.
 
Ambassador Willibrod Slaa and Tanzanian Diaspora in the Nordic and Baltic States, sends their heartfelt condolences to his Excellency, Dr. Pombe John Magufuli, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania and families who lost their loved ones.

Following this tragedy, the Flag at the Embassy of Tanzania and all other places will be flown at half-mast for 4 days starting today 21st September 2018. 

A book of condolence will be available at the Embassy of Tanzania from 10.00am to 16.00pm on 25th - 26th September 2018.
 
 

Ubalozi wa Tanzania, Sweden umeungana na Watanzania wote duniani katika kuomboleza waliokutwa na umauti kwa ajili ya kuzama kwa MV Nyerere karibu na Kisiwa cha Ukara, Ziwa Victoria hapo tarehe 20 Septemba.

Balozi Willibrod Slaa na Diaspora ya Watanzania katika Nchi za Nordic na Baltic wanatuma rambi rambi nyingi kwa Mh. Dr. Pombe John Magufuli, Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano ya Tanzania na familia zilizopoteza wapendwa wao.

Kufuatia janga hili bendera ya Tanzania itapepea nusu mlingoti sehemu zote kwa siku nne tangu tarehe 21 Septemba 2018.

Kitabu cha maombolezi kitakuwepo Ubalozi wa Tanzania, Näsby Alle 6, kuanzia saa 4.00 asubuhi mpaka saa 10.00 jioni tarehe 25-26 Septemba 2018.
