On his last day in Tanzania, President Clinton became one of 360, 000 visitors annually to explore the World Famous Ngorongoro Crater. Often called "Africa’s Eden" and the "8th Natural Wonder of the World," this collapsed volcano (a “caldera”) is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area . This is a natural sanctuary for thousands of birds, insects and animals such as lions, zebra, black rhino and wildebeest, all free to wander.

Foreigners vote 20 Tanzanian hotels, lodges best in Africa

 Seven luxury properties in Tanzania were among the 20 Top Lodges and Resorts in Africa and the Middle East selected by Travel  Leisure magazine’s readers’ choice of World’s Best Awards, it has been learnt.

A report issued by Karen Hoffman and Sarah McHeffey from Bradford Group based in US and made available to The Guardian yesterday indicates that the criteria in determining the Lodges and Resorts category are rooms facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.

The numerous properties in Tanzania designated world’s best are hotels and lodges located in the country's northern tourist circuit and Zanzibar, according to the report. Travel + Leisure magazine has the largest audience of any travel magazine.

It indicates that the properties in Tanzania designated World’s Best are Serengeti Sopa Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, Zanzibar Serena Inn, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge and Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge. Read More
